Kansas City Wizards practice 09-18-2008

I got to CAB about halfway through practice today. The starters were practicing together and everyone else was playing a small side game.

The first thing that really caught my eye was a drill that wrapped up right after I got there. They were practicing whipping passes into the box and redirecting the shots. I can not testify how planned the Josh Wolff goal was in the LA game but I have seen the team practice that exact play and it looks like they were working on that again. Next they moved to setpieces. Hercules was taking the kicks and there were some awesome balls played in. He missed some, but some of those balls curved in as well as I have seen anyone. Here are a few photos of Hercules shots...

Jimmy gets his head on another ball...
Just over the yellow wall...
And just under the bar...
At the top of the curve...
And almost saved...

After practice I had a chance to talk to Davy Arnaud and Kevin Souter. Yesterday I talked to Hercules as the winner of the fan vote. I will have those up in a little while.
Bonus photo - the two tryout players took crosses and shots for quite awhile after everyone else left.
Update - I forgot to mention, the lineup for this weekend appears to be the same as last week.
