LA Galaxy practice...

The Galaxy flew into Kansas City Friday afternoon. They stopped by Community America Ballpark for a quick practice so they could take a look at the most interesting soccer venue in MLS.

Beckham bravely faces The Cauldron where Wizards supporters groups stand. Think he is contemplating another handshake fine?

Some of the Galaxy players notice the "bullseye". They decide to make a game out of it.

It looms over the "left field" bleachers...

The media was made to move to another area right about this time but supposedly Beckham put a ball through the eye on 1 try...

Here is another players miss...

Eddie Lewis explaining the shot...

The Galaxy did allow interviews after all, apparently they had thought about going against league policy but decided to relent. I do not think they should have been too worried, the Kansas City media was not likely to be too vicious. The Galaxy provided Donovan and Coach Arena to talk to the media. I got them to allow Klein to speak as well.

A large congregation of media in Kansas City talks to the most well known American player. I know Donovan has answered all the questions about Beckham already but his answers did seem very canned. Almost robotic even...

He did lighten up and sound less rehearsed when asked about the US National Team...

Meanwhile, Beckham stretched and stayed as far away from the media as possible. He and Donovan never seemed to be within 50 feet of each other in the limited time we were allowed to watch. The Star reporter informed me that Beckham did wave at him as the bus left the parking lot.

I got a couple quick interviews with Coach Arena and Chris Klein. I did record the Donovan interview but the audio is so bad it is not worth posting. The interview posts will be online shortly.
