Interview hosting

In the past I have been using imeem to host the audio for interviews. Increasingly it has been harder and harder to use them for the interviews.

I added photos to the audio interviews and made videos. Not the highest quality but they will get better. I will reinstall better video editing software so they will get better.

All the old interviews will remain there but going forward the interviews will be turned into videos and hosted at SmugMug. I host photos and now videos through SmugMug and they are consistently quality and well supported.

If you have tried to listen to the recent interviews, please try again.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Random shots - 6/11/2009

Cardiologist explains how implantable cardiac defibrillator saved Belgian soccer player Anthony Van Loo's life on the field. Watch the video, Loo collapses, is shocked and recovers right on the pitch.

An interview with Loo and others...

Grass at BMO Field? Sounds like it might be closer to a reality...

More WPS games on TV. More soccer on tv is a good thing...

Mike's Former Wizards Update. Lots of former Wizards in action...

The Kansas City Star "All-Access Day" coverage. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, part 4. Good stuff by Ryan Young and the Star. I know articles like this everyday is not likely to happen but I would love to see them do articles like this every week. Please let the Star know that you appreciate the coverage...

Hillcrest Road has a QnA with Nate Bukaty after his sweet goal in the media game. Should we tell them we let him shoot so he would talk more about soccer? His team still lost...

I must be a little slow but it seems that Advantage Played moved to KC. See you at the tailgate maybe?

Abe Thompson interview - 06/10/2009

Abe got into the game this last week and was the winner of our fan interview poll. We talk with Abe about getting in the last game, keeping his focus while waiting his chance to get in a game and the upcoming Revolution game.

Talked with Jimmy after practice yesterday. He discusses the last game, what the team need to do and about his loss as the Captain of the White media team...

This is the "Bad News Bears" soccer moment Jimmy talks about. Conrad, Hohlbein and Hartman collide while going for the ball...

Conrad and Guillermo Barros Schelotto, think the photographer got Jimmy's good side?

Lance Watson interview - 06/10/2009

Lance battling with Robbie Rogers for the ball...

Kansas City Wizards 4 - 0 Des Moines Menace

The Menace keeper played well despite giving up a couple goals before the other keeper came in the game.

Harington looked good while he was in. Running up and down the left side at will...

More photos from game and practice

Kansas City Brass 1 -1 Des Moines Menace

I should have posted this last week...

Sterling Copeland #22 scored for the Menace in the 20th minute.

The Menace and the Brass traded chances throughout the game with Des Moines having a little better of the play.

But in the last minute Brass #9 Giovanni "Ed" Edward's hustle allowed him to put a rebound past the Menace keeper.

Celebration for the Brass...

Here is the writeup from the Menace.

Media game 06/06/2009 Blue 2 - 1 White

The Blue team - Captain Lance Watson

The White team - Captain Jimmy Conrad

Notice the white team had all the Women? We know where Jimmy's priorities are. What's up with all the hats? I guess some of the women thought it would keep their hair nice but how about Fogel? The fans knew it was covering a bald spot...

The blue team had a few more people that had played before but the white team did have the edge in fitness. It made for a fairly even game in the end.

Raul Villegas and Victor Hernandez scored for the Blue team (thank goodness for the Spanish speaking media). Nate Bukaty scored for the white team and crashed the Cauldron earning some respect from the fans. Outstanding play by Bob Rusert for the white team as well.

Overall it was fun to be part of the media game. It was cool to hear the Cauldron from the field. Man I am old, slow and out of shape but I did not completely embarrass myself (I think). I had a slide tackle and a blocked shot.

The biggest downer for me in the game was the idiot who thinks he needs to pick the ball up in a soccer game. He did it last year, he did it this year. Not that I expect a media game to be very serious, but if you don't want to at least pretend to play soccer then don't show up. Turns out it is the same jackass who wanted to cover his bald spot...

Blue team, tired but victorious...

Kansas City Wizards 0 - 2 Columbus Crew

Another disappointing game. The game started off fairly even with the Crew maybe getting a little better of play but the Wizards had their chances.

Herculez Gomez attempts to get off a shot...

Then in the 14th minute Holhbein, Conrad and Hartman collide. It sounded like Kevin called off his defenders but they did not hear him.

The collision left everyone on the ground and the ball bouncing free...

Guillermo Barros Schelotto steps up to a free shot while Conrad throws his body across the goal to no avail...

And can only watch it bounce in...

Local product Matt Besler trying to save a ball from going out of bounds...

Mid-air collision...

Crew keeper Andy Gruenebaum, the other local product had a good game.

He was involved in a collision as well...

In the 64th minute a pena;lty kick was awarded to the Crew to give Schelotto another goal...

Inthe 51st minute Chad Marshall received a red card after he gave Hohlbein a shot to the groin. Aaron had a tough game...

The Wizards were not able to capatilize on being a man up for 40 minutes, there were some good chances but no goals.
