Missouri Comets announce Kim Roentved as head coach

The Missouri Comets have announced that Kim Roentved will be their first head coach. Roentved was a star player with the Wichita Wings, Kansas City Comets and the Kansas City Attack throughout the 80's and 90's. Kim (the Rocket) Roentved was a 17 time all star and won multiple defender of the year awards. While he was a great defender he was also recognized as one of the best two way players in indoor soccer. In 731 professional indoor games, Roentved scored 380 goals with 437 assists. Roentved was also a manager with Wichita and has coached youth team locally.

The Comets had previously announced a press conference on August 25th to announce the new head coach. The Comets are an expansion team in the MISL and will play their games at the Independence Events Center.

The Missouri Comets are using the old Kansas City Comets logo. The old logo was overwhelmingly chosen over a newer version in a fan vote.
