Nielsen and Collin interviews 7/5/11

Rumor out of Portland after the last game was that after Collin scored he and Julio Cesar borrowed a couple drinks from fans next to the field. I had to ask him about that (and the game).

Last year Jimmy Nielsen took a bite out of a hot dog (or brat) that someone threw at him and then tossed it back. I thought he might have an opinion on Collin's mid-game drink and he sure did.

Photos from SKC clinic with National Sports Center for the Disabled

Last week a few Sporting KC players gave a clinic for the National Sports Center for the Disabled. Kevin Ellis, Luke Sassano, Seth Sinovic and Graham Zusi were all really great with the kids and all appeared to have a genuinely fun time.

In the article it is mentioned that funding was cut for the local chapter of the NSCD so they will not be able to host events like this for Kansas City special needs kids. Kansas City Parks and Recreation has said they would continue these events but nothing was in writing as of last week. Hopefully KC Parks and Rec does continue these for the area families.
